We need your help …….
The shocking truth is that most people are unaware that the Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. As a non-profit, the Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame relies on the generosity of others to help fulfill its mission.
The Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization managed by the Buffalo Foundation. Headquartered in Georgetown, Kentucky, it was organized in 2009 by a group of concerned Kentucky civic leaders and sports aficionados in an effort to broaden the public awareness and understanding of the role African-Americans have played in the rich history of Kentucky sports. It also seeks to highlight the role of diversity and cultural tolerance in the growth of high school, collegiate and professional sports. It also seeks to provide education, social and career opportunities for youth through the efforts of the Buffalo Foundation. The cornerstone of the Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame will be history, freedom, education and culture. This is what sets the Hall of Fame apart from other Halls of Fames.
As a non-profit, we face the same challenges that other non-profits face and rely on donations and sponsorship from individuals and organizations such as yourself. In addition to raising revenue through the above means, the Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame hosts events surrounding the Kentucky Derby and throughout the nation.
If you are a fan and supporter of Kentucky sports history and the contributions that African Americans have made to sports, please consider the Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame in your philanthropic efforts.
